YOGAFESTIVAL | MILAN 2009: "YOGA AND FUTURE"

Yogafestival | Milan, the international festival entirely devoted to Yoga and designed for those people who want to discover or further investigate the different disciplines of this old philosophy, celebrates its fourth edition.
An entire weekend at Superstudio Più, from October 9th till the 11th, 2009, devoted to discovery, analysis, experimentation, relax and fun. The theme selected for this edition is Yoga and Future: more than 20 workshops of "traditional" practice and the new Yoga Evolution section which offers disciplines quite popular abroad dealing with Yoga with a more Western and contemporary take such as Antigravity (in the picture) , Yoga Flow, Power Yoga…
The festival represents also a unique chance for whomever wants to discover more about yoga but has never practicing it thanks to the free classes, more than 30 short free classes (45 minutes), held by qualified Italian schools.
Also the Ayurveda Space is back, which gathers together the most prestigious and qualified schools in Italy, a herbalist's shop and a specialist bookstore. And again the kid's area, the bio-bar, the bio-restaurant, the yoga emporium, the tea-tasting hall, the bookstore, the relax areas and the checkroom .

THE SCULPTURE HATS BY GALLIA AND PETER EXHIBITED AT MYOWNGALLERY

True works of art, unique pieces made of refined materials and distinguished by a sophisticated style: these are the hats created by Gallia and Peter, the historic Milanese fashion house which is celebrating at MyOwnGallery the centenary of Futurism with the exhibition "24 Future Hats", created by Rosita Legnani and Anna De Gregorio. Functional, yet unique, objects created by Laura Marelli, great grand-daughter of the founder of Via Montenapoleone's atelier, are shown in an exhibition blending art, haute-couture and excellence of the historic Milanese craftwork. 24 Future Hats, from September 23 to October 6th, joins the Giornata del Contemporaneo on the agenda on October 3.

ANCI CREATIVE AWARD PREVIEW AT MYOWNGALLERY

30 young international artists "crazy for Italian shoes" will be on display on at MyOwnGallery for the second edition of ANCI CreativeSeptember 15th Award- Emerging Art Edition, the award devoted to young up-and-coming artists interpreting the myth of Made in Italy footwear. The event, strictly by invitation only, will present a preview for the press of MICAM ShoEvent, the fashion shoe fair organized by ANCI, during which a highly selected jury will award the winners. SPA DESIGN WORKS TO RESTORE THE ITALIAN EMBASSY IN PARIS

 It has been one of the less predictable presence in the latest Fuori Salone event at Superstudio in the Tortona area.
Spa Design has presented at the Temporary Museum for New Design within Superstudio 13 all the latest trends concerning the wellness and the bathroom area in an innovative and experimental way in a wide space divided by thematic areas. The architect Grammatica has attended with enthusiasm the exhibition and asked to Spa Design and its partners to work along with him in restoring all the bathrooms of the historic Italian embassy in Paris.
A great success for the Made in Italy design, for Spa Design and for Superstudio which believed since the beginning in the growing interest for the wellness sector and has created an opportunity for contact and business on an international level.

"DONNE DONNE DONNE" AT TRIENNALE

 A "female" event at Milan's Triennale will celebrate on October 2, 3, 4 the women’s world starting from the years after the Second World War until today, focusing on the evolution of the female role, her achievements, her battles and her new social status.
The event, called “Donne Donne Donne”, will show a photographic exhibition by different artists, auteur short-films and a series of forums devoted to social issues. Among the speakers, there will be Rita Levi Montalcini,
Mara Carfagna, Letizia Moratti, Gisella Borioli who will talk of issues such as science, politics, communication, society and equal opportunities.

MITO SETTEMBREMUSICA AT SUPERSTUDIO

Superstudio Più welcomes the third edition of MITO SettembreMusica International Festival by turning itself into a hall devoted to the great contemporary music. There is great anticipation for the Japanese composer Ryoji Ikeda, acclaimed by the critics as one of the most radical and innovative composer on the contemporary electronic music scene.
Ikeda combines abstract and figurative representations of matter, time and space in a powerful, thorough and breathtakingly accomplished work, by challenging and exploring the thresholds of our perceptions. An incessant flow of dot-like particles becomes an architectural game made of star maps projected on a huge screen following one another in symbiosis with the sounds. His performance will take place in the Central Point, the great 2500 square-meter hall, on September 12th at 10pm. General Admission: 5 Euros.

MILANO REWARD THE WOMANLY UNIVERSE

Great success for the third edition of the womanly prize MilanoDonna, intended by the Mayor as an honour for those women in their "golden age" who have contributed to society development for  a liftime, and for the young ones, our promising new talents.
At Palazzo Marino, in the Sala Alessi, there was a series of the most significant figures among the Milanese feminine personalities, such as Valentina Cortese and the soprano Mirella Freni, the architect Gae Aulenti and the social worker Amalia Litta Modignani. Besides them, the young icon Margherita Missoni and the photographer Micol Sabbadini, the pianist Tatiana Larionova and the researcher Elena Valassi.

ART MANHOLES REVEAL THE WIRED-UP CITY

An open-air exhibition of art manholes in cast-iron (those of the optical fiber network) will spread for the next six months all over the most creative Milanese neighborhood, the Tortona area. "Sopra il Sotto – Tombini Art raccontano la Città Cablata" (Above the Underneath: Art Manholes reveal the Wired-up City) provides art on the street and street art starting from June 11th until the end of November 2009. Celebrating its ten-year activity anniversary, METROWEB, in charge of the largest European optical fiber network, has planned an event aimed at making the city more appealing, at supporting young contemporary art and especially at reminding the Milanese people a source-of-pride leadership: Milan  is  the  most wired-up city of all Europe.
Selected by the curator Davide Giannella, with Gisella Borioli's art direction,  16 established street artists have freely interpreted the NETWORK theme: 108, 2501, Abbominevole, Bo130, Dem, El Gato Chimney, Faust, Luze, maba, Microbo, Ozmo, Pho, Santy, Sten&Lex, Ufo5.
A great opening event (by invitation only),  designed by AreaArt with the collaboration of Silvestrin Associati, is on stage at  Superstudio Più, the creative epicenter of the area: exhibition, multi-sensorial installation, light dinner and dance party.

MILANODONNA 2009 PRIZE

The third edition of the all women's prize MilanoDonna – the prestigious event promoted by the Milan city council with Gisella Borioli's art direction, devoted to the Great Women who made Milan a great city and to the Young Women giving their contribution – has finally arrived.
An ideal alternation bringing together different generations of women, which in the past editions saw the parade of important names such as Krizia, Fernanda Pivano, Maddalena De Padova, Ornella Vanoni, along the young Gaia Trussardi, Ilaria Marelli, Gentucca Bini and Martina Mondadori.

FROM MILAN TO ROME: YOGA ENERGY FOR EVERYONE

Born in 2005 within Superstudio Più, already renowned for being the "incubator" of some very successful exhibitions such as (con)Temporary Art, Uovo, White, Temporary Museum for New Design, for the second time the Yoga Festival is ready to land in Rome, in the wonderful gardens of Villa Pamphilj. Three days (5-7th June), devoted to yoga, music and more, a summer edition with respect to the more "institutional" version, which takes place at Superstudio in October, and which, nonetheless, retains the same high quality of the participations and of the yoga masters invited in Milan. The theme of this edition will be Yoga & Energy, that is all the possibilities developed by Yoga to obtain the greatest sprint from the body and the spirit: three Yoga days open to everyone: people who practice it, who want to begin or who are simply curious. LINEALINEAPUNTOLINEA BY MARCO QUERIN AT MYOWNGALLERY

An exhibition light as a thread. As those used by Marco Querin in his works of art, creating cold geometries with the warmth of the wool threads or the colorfulness and luminosity of the metal threads. MyOwnGallery opens its doors to the personal exhibition  "linealineapuntolinea" by the Milanese artist, which starting from its name sums up Querin's stylistic key figure par excellence: the threads, already implemented in his first works only as decorative elements, now become the only tool which entirely covers his canvases. WHITE HOMME, THE SUCCESS CONTINUES

White Homme will be back from the 21st to the 23rd June 2009, confident of the last edition success, with a widening of its exhibition areas at Superstudio Più. Research and scouting remain the leading inspiration of the hall, which aims at re-establishing itself as the breeding ground of new projects, a creative container which selects and takes in the most innovative and modern suggestions in terms of menswear on an international level. From June, the web radio "White Redio" project will start and will air live from the hall, beating the rhythm of the exhibition with a special music selection, a mix of '70s and '80s music, arranged in bossa-nova or contaminated with jazz infusions.

ADRIATIC DESIGN@MYOWNGALLERY: IN PREVIEW THE EXCELLENCE OF "GLOCAL" DESIGN

MyOwnGallery is the starting point of the itinerant show of the best design "Made in Adriatic", display window of the Adriatic Design contest, promoted by Poliarte, the experimental Design Centre of Ancona.
Happenings, design and photography exhibitions, art/design ateliers, wellness, drinks&food following the theme of “glocalization”.
On show, from 9th to 17th May, the projects of professionals, creative people and companies (among them Poltrona Frau, iGuzzini, Elica) coming from or working in the Adriatic territory and that have distinguished themselves in the domains of Interior, Industrial Graphic and Fashion Design.

CUT & PASTE: THE INTERNATIONAL TOUR OF DESIGN ARRIVES IN MILAN

Los Angeles vs S.Francisco vs New York, Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, Milan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Sydney…
Cut&Paste, web design competition among 2D, 3D and motion design artists, arrives in Milan, at Superstudio Più.
16 capitals for 16 contenders, in a challenge made of pixels and graphic pens, a common theme and a few minutes at disposal. 16 screens, around them a shouting, excited and delirious public. For the winners of the three categories are honours, glories and a flight to the Big Apple, to participate to the Global Championship of 20th June 2009. All performances are filmed and projected live in Art Point, that in the night becomes the location of an overwhelming party, reminding the irresistible experience of the just ended Fuori Salone. After a virtual battle, we'll see what will happen in such a sparkling and creative atmosphere!

LUCCHINI'S GHOST ON THE COSTA LUMINOSA
