THE PLATE OF THE HEART AND the MILAN "DAL COER IN MAN"

One thousand plates numbered and signed by Giulio Cappellini were given this morning by the councillor for Social Policies in Milan Mariolina Moioli to the excellence in the restaurant industry for the "Plate of the Heart", the collectible design object distributed in the best city restaurants in favour of the weakest parts of the community. In a way this project revisits the "piatto del buon ricordo" (the plate of the good memory) that will be on sale in more than 40 fine restaurants such as Peck, Il Marchesino, Rigolo, Sadler, Savini. 7 are the designers involved by Gisella Borioli, artistic director of the project, who will be decorating 7 pieces in the next 7 years until the Expo taking into account the leitmotiv: a red heart and the sentece "Milan loves you". Giulio Cappellini has signed the first plate in 2009, while Krizia has been assigned the special 2009 Christmas Edition.  Alessandro Mendini will interpret the 2010 plate, Fabio Novembre the one of 2011. And then Matteo Thun, Paola Navone, Sergio Calatroni, and last but not least Michele De Lucchi in 2015.
