ADI COMPASSO D'ORO: SUPERDESIGN SHOW AWARD WINNERS

SuperDesign Show, a showcase open to the world of International design, a continuous research of top talents, a container of projects to be seen, appreciated, shared, purchased and…. awarded!
ADI Compasso D'Oro, the oldest and most influential international design award arisen by a Gio Ponti's idea, goes to Emanuel Gargano  and Marco Fagioli, in the “Design of living” category with “5mm”, the slimmest wall-mounted basin mixer designed together with Giampiero Castagnoli for Rubinetterie 3M. Emanuel Gargano made its debut at SupersDesign Show with a solo exhibition of great impact in Superstudio Più’s Basement (in photo) soon  achieving positive critics and standing out as one of the most interesting designers in design week 2016.  Marco Fagioli, on the other hand, designed the graphic and the exhibition “visual” of Mario Cucinella’s exhibition, a great architect who enlivened the Basement with its School of Sustainability.

Compasso D’oro  lifetime achievement award goes to Rodrigo Rodriguez, another top protagonist of SuperDesign: undisputed personality in the world of design (from C&B Italia to Cassina…) holds, among other positions,  the office of Chairman of Material Connexion Italia, the largest Italian database of experimental materials, a research in the centre of Materials Village, successful and high-visibility project  hosted in Superstudio’s Art Garden.

WHITE: BRAND AND CONTENT GROWTH

A swell of new entries, special events and new collaborations at White June (from 18 to 20), dedicated to women's precollections and menswear of research, on show at the historical Superstudio Più of via Tortona 27 and in the ex-Ansaldo spaces.
250 brands, among which Semicouture womenswear  stands out (project by Erika Cavallini) and Sankuanz menswear (designed by Chinese stylist Shangguan Zhe, finalist in 2015 of the Lvmh Prize).
New affinity exchange with Revolver fair of Copenhagen that presents 12 brand of Noth-Europe, whereas at Revolver (Copenhagen 10-12 August) 10 Italian brands selected by White will participate.
In the Wow-White on Web area by Highsnobiety, 10 stylists will be present, selected by the daily news website Highsnobiety, exclusively on sale on luisaviaroma.com.
Furthermore, the Time Award, in collaboration with Italian Chamber of Buyers, is back: on saturday 18 June two winners will be selected among 10 finalists of the contest.

SAFARI TORTONA

Safari Tortona, an exhibition on the "creative district" by high school students of Brera and Poliedra Politecnico di Milano, illustrates at MUDEC a personal vision of the area transformation over the last thirty years. Gisella Borioli together with Michelangelo Pistoletto, answered students' questions by describing her role in the transformation of the area and how Superstudio 13 was born from a visionary intuition and, at a later time, Superstudio Più, driving force of development and attraction ability of the entire area, that has become over the years the focus point for fashion, art and design.
Michelangelo Pistoletto explained its vision in a bond between nature and science that turned into its Third Paradise sign, also visible in the monumental art work in Superstudio's roof. Mudec 25-31 May www.mudec.it

Mapic Italy, the Italian edition of the global leader event of the Real Estate is ready to go. POP DOLLS / FLAVIO LUCCHINI

Around the child's poetic borns the exhibition "Pop Dolls", the dolls-sculpture by the artist Flavio Lucchini, girls not women and women-girls, naive and provocative, colored resin, as a tribute to femininity blossoming. The exhibition, hosted in the basement of Superstudio during SuperDesign Show (12th to 17th April), also presents artist's unpublished drawings, maquettes and preparatory works. There is the opportunity to visit also the adjacent permanent Lucchini's Atelier, always at Superstudio Più, by appointment.

SUPERDESIGN SHOW EXTENSION

The SuperDesign Show based at Superstudio Più also extends at Superstudio 13, the studios in via Forcella 13 – via Bugatti 9 with PepsiCo exhibition “Mix It Up 2016”, an intriguing pop mix with design, music, fashion, culinary arts curated by PepsiCo Design in collaboration with Fabio Novembre, Karim Rashid, Lapo Elkann + Garage Italian Customs, Benjamin Hubert, Jeremy Scott, Design Group Italy, and many others.
In the courtyard of Superstudio 13, the installation of BlaBlaCar shows the effects of car sharing on the environment, with interactive infographics and a space for games and meetings.
Moreover Melissa Lounge welcomes visitors and transports them to the colourful and joyful world of the famous Brazilian PVC footwear, born from the collaboration of international designers such as the Campana brothers, Gaetano Pesce, Jason Wu, Jeremy Scott and Vivienne Westwood.
Light and creative food at Superstudio Cafè, and every day from 5.30pm  meetings and presentations about the application of biomimicry in design and architecture, curated by DDN.

WOMAN OF DESIGN

Even Gisella Borioli, CEO and creative director of Superstudio is present in W - Women in Italian Design, in Triennale, curated by Silvana Annicchiarico, history of Italian design for women, where women have were involved in a less authoritarian, more spontaneous, more dynamic design. For this reason she has already received the Golden Ambrogino 2014, prize of the City of Milan to the most influential personalities. AFFORDABLE ART FAIR: THE LATEST TRENDS OF CONTEMPORARY ART

Affordable Art Fair is back in Milan and transforms Superstudio Più spaces into the event that has revolutioned the way to live contemporary art. All the latest trends under 6000 euros are located under only one roof with 84 International galleries and many special sections: Street Art, to discover how to collect urban art; Photography, very appreciated mean by collectors as well as by more experts; the Exchange programme, that brings Korea to Milan thanks to the collaboration with AAF Seoul; the Young section, with emerging galleries, with artists under 40 years old and an exhibiting space supported by Warsteiner to bet on tomorrow's young talents.
Scheduled for the 18th March, the Photography Day, a day by Denis Curti with portfolio readings, talks and workshop whereas during the weekend there will be the opportunity to take a challenge with Mostrami Factory's painting labs  and a space dedicated to kids where they can have fun with origami or painting.

MODEL FOR A NIGHT

"I agreed to partecipate to a catwalk of Chicca Lualdi, along with a group of women related to design, to witness how much fashion is or should be designed not only as a show for stars or models, but as a "project" that thinks to all of us "real women", with our personality, our figure, our age. A complicity between the designer and her improvised models out-of-sizes captained by the City Assessor to fashion and design Cristina Tajani, the best testimonial of all the values, creative, social, political, economic, of fashion”.  Gisella Borioli, journalist and founder of Superstudio Group, summarizes his exploits during the Milan Fashion Week. A participation which opened a debate: as the celebrated fashion shows must take account of the real world and perhaps change or update a modality that, in times of youtube and instagram, bloggers and instant-show on the network, seems to many superseded? Superstudio Più is actively getting ready for a new exciting edition of White.
Over 500 research brands, among contemporary fashion's top national and international proposals, new initiatives and projects that make Tortona Fashion District a creative hub of excellences for the over 20000 expected visitors. In favour of the support of the new fashion generations the is the “IT’S TIME TO SOUTH” area, achieved in collaboration with I.C.E, that opens the doors to 15 selected designers with a strong international appeal, coming from Calabria, Campania, Puglia and Sicily.
Heading towards the East, instead, two special projects. "China Calling", a selection of the most promising Chinese contemporary designers and, last but not least, the Korean brand Yohanix, protagonist of a city walk on sunday 28 in Piazza Duomo.

REVOLUTION IS IN THE AIR OF FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY

Women Fashion week is back, and the temple of the Milanese photography, Superstudio 13, hosts the photography exhibition This Is Me Not Being You, by Micaela Flends. An unusual title, inspired by the text of a well known song by the punk rock band NOFX, that echoes the breakthrough and avant-garde language of the images.
35 fashion photographs by seven young international photographers, some in Italy for the first time. Felix Cooper, Dafy Hagai, Jai Odell, Winter Vandenbrink Kiki Xue, Paolo Zerbini, Marie Zucker, reinterpret fashion photography as a trend and style expression of these days,  but also as a call of a generation that describe the most introspective themes such as identity, recognition and representation of beauty. LOVE: 10 YEARS OF YOGA FESTIVAL

Love as an intangible yet powerful energy, fundamental principle in human life.  A tribute to this recurring concept in Yoga, is the theme chosen for YogaFestival 2015 edition, that at its tenth edition, presents itself not only as an event, but as an expression of a community that grows during the years and spreads in all Italy.
