CHRISTIE'S AUCTION: 20 MANHOLES ART BY METROWEB

5  international urban painters, 5 capitals of the world of street art, 20 manholes art, the fashion-street iconic more famous of the world and an enlightened maecenas, METROWEB, the company owner of the largest underground network of optical fibers in Europe.
Starts the conclusion the project 'Above the Under - manholes Art tell the story of the City Wired', born from an idea by Monica Nascimbeni for Metroweb, the open air show of manholes art in cast iron that from November 2010 until May 2012 invaded successfully via Montenapoleone in Milan, experimenting with a new language of art and communication. From the world's capitals of public art and graffiti (Milan, Berlin, Paris, London, New York) were called five great artists of the international street art, who are invited to provide a multiple work on more manholes, under the artistic direction of Gisella Borioli, journalist and curator who is concentrated for some years on the promotion of street art as a new form of contemporary art in all the effects, and with the collaboration of Matthew Donini.
Shepard Fairey, artist has become cultural phenomenon with the iconography of Barack Obama, one of the most effective illustrations of American policy, has designed the modern 'mandala' abstract, almost tribal; Space Invader proposes its world-famous pixeled aliens inspired by the legendary video game years ' 70; the manholes of Rendo instead are graphic, abstract and three-dimensional as suspended elements in space; Flying Fortress amazes with his bears that refer to the symbol of Berlin and with his "Teddy troups"; The London Police have reinterpreted their playful "lads" all love-peace-friendship.

The 20 works of art, appropriately restored, will be beaten at the auction on 6 June at Christie's in Palazzo Isimbardi.
The proceeds from the event will be entirely donated to the Association Onlus "Friends of Edoardo" to develop the project "Educational road", in favor of the young people of the suburbs milanese hardship, started in the district of Barona the Barrio's /Community New don Gino Rigoldi. The initiative has the patronage of the Province of Milan and the involvement of the Association of via Montenapoleone.

COSTA CRUISES: GAJA LUCCHINI BECOMES A FRAMEWORK

A great work depicting a musa dreamy is the panel made by artists-architects Casagrande-Recalcati that welcomes guests at the entrance of the halls of the bridge 5 of the new Costa Fascinosa ship by Costa Crociere inaugurated yesterday.
The surprise was finding out that the 'model' is none other that Gaja Lucchini, director dance area and a shareholder-consultant of Superstudio Group, the daughter of President Flavio Lucchini, well known artist and in turn present with a large sculpture on the same ship. Among the hundreds of works of art that characterize this ship dedicated to the charm of the cinema and art, there are also the three vessels of author specially made by Venini, signed just by Flavio Lucchini, Casagrande-Recalcati and Emanuela Venturini.

THE COUNCILLOR BOERI AND THE CRITIC DAVERIO: TALKING ABOUT ART AT MIA FAIR Daverio: talking about art at MY Fair

To the great success of the second edition of MY Fair, Superstudio Più, we added a moment of high cultural reflection, in the Dance Room transformed in Conference Hall.
By touching the delicate subject of what the art could bring in time of sickness, the The Culture Councillor  of Milan, Stefano Boeri was compared with the critic Philippe Daverio (  happily returned from a long stay in the hospital) and professor Ugo Pastorino, director of the department surgery of the City Cancer Institute.
The theme: can art to help the relief of pain and how the hospitals can contribute? In the lively debate are not missed the proposals from the public, including the one to bring life and beauty in the long corridors and big halls in hospitals through exhibitions of photography and art.
In the salons of the Fair was already present the touching shows 'Still alive-33 stories of those who have lived and won the fight against cancer', presented by the same Pastorino.

MIA FAIR, PHOTOS AND VIDEOS, IS BACK

After the great success of public (more than 15,000 visitors) and sales of the first edition, MIA, Milan Image Art Fair, the appointment of Superstudio Più, devised and directed by Fabio Castelli reserved to photography and video art, is back.

A WHITE DRESS FOR COSTA FASCINOSA

A sculpture by Flavio Lucchini will wellcome new Costa Fascinosa's 3.780 passengers, next great flagship of the group that will be launch in Savona on May, 6th. It will be the biggest italian cruise ship where contemporary art plays the lead role. There are lot of works, among which an overshadowing and wiggly catalyse white resin figure that represents a long night dress with train. The sculpture "Haute-cuture" overbears inner swimming pools, covered by a crystal moving roof that makes even more magic and unique the atmosphere during the tours through the Mediterranean sea.

SUPERSTUDIO DISCOVERING AWARD: THE YOUNG DESIGNERS WINNERS

Three, indeed four, young planners participating to the Discovering section of The Temporary Museum for New Design of Superstudio, have been chosen by a jury with Gisella Borioli and Giulio Cappellini, the curator and the art director of the event, together with Carla Vanni, journalist  and editorial director of Grazia International editions, and Massimiliano Bizzi, talent scout and art director of the avant-garde fashion fair White. A prize for some of the young talents that Superstudio has found, hosted, showed, helped to enter in the market through the e-commerce site www.dalani.it under the logo Superstudio Selection. Congratulations to Leonardo Talarico, Andrea Borgogni, Matteo Zorzenoni for the proposal of industrial design, and to Marzia Mosconi of Arredi Marziani with special mention for the design philosophy (in the picture).

TEMPORARY MUSEUM IS OPEN!

The Temporary Museum for New Design opening is started with a great success in the two locations Superstudio Più and his Extension Superstudio 13. An emotional way among new objects, proposals which join art and design together, immaterial installations, amazing technology, reserch and more than 100 new talents to find out in the Basement of Via Tortona 27.
In Via Forcella 13 (entrance also from via Bugatti 9) historic rustproof pieces (Leucos, Rex Kralj, Howe) suggested again in new versions, alternate themselves with interesting proposes that renew about the concept shape- function (Layup Carbonio, Planika, Ryszward Manczak, Cube on Cube, LG Hausys, Hiko, Phormalab, Marmo Elite). Eco- sustainable challange is developed by critical projects such as tables made by damage cars plates (Ale Jordao), lamps and sofas realized with industrial wastes from the very interesting exhibition by Luca Gnizio (for design for), instant - lab that creates fornitures with transport pallets and give them to the visitors (Dennis Bureau Detours). COUNT-DOWN: -6 DAYS TO SUPERSTUDIO DESIGN WEEK/DISCOVERING

43 young up-and-coming designers selected by Superstudio among those who answered a search launched by reputable design sites; 24 contestants of the Ilide competition for new lighting projects; 20 designers involved in the Musei di Carta project for samples of perfect museum-shop gifts. The solo-show by Oki Sato/Nendo, example of a young designer who quickly achieved success. Discovering is a vibrant and surprising world apart, on display in the Superstudio Più's Basement (former anti-aircraft shelters built by General-Electric, nowadays turned into our exhibition center), where visitors descend looking for news, inventions, good ideas, productive impulses and designers to hire. This turns out to be a quite easy task as here you will find almost a hundred names, all selected with special care.

The Turkish marbles are the main feature of the "Thus Spoke The Marble: The Journey Alters You" project, an exhibition curated and arranged by Demirden Design, with the aim of promoting the contemporary design and bring the tradition experience into the creative renovation currently stimulating the country. COUNT-DOWN: -9 DAYS TO SUPERSTUDIO DESIGN WEEK/CARRERA ON THE ROOF

A bright sun lights up the Superstudio Più's roof. And in the dark, it becomes even brighter. It is the amazing space created by Carrera to introduce a new kind of sunglasses, reinterpreted with a new design recalling one of the brand’s heritage models. The luminous sphere, soaring from the roof and visible from the street, can be accessed only by wearing dark sunglasses: the ambience is blinding and lens are essential. The performance is round-the-clock: by day shootings of all visitors wearing the Carrera 6000 sunglasses; by night a dancing get-together with technology twists. The night performance is only for a few selected people, reservation recommended in situ.

COUNT-DOWN: -10 DAYS TO SUPERSTUDIO DESIGN WEEK/MUSEI DI CARTA

A great initiative produced by the collaboration between Superstudio Group and Aliantedizioni, offers the Musei di Carta exhibition, a project specially designed for 20 Italian Museums, that will be provided with a customized paper or recycled cardboard object to be sold in their shops. Twenty young designers, led by the master Riccardo Dalisi, have carried out a full-scale prototype, meeting a few essential requisites: the object had to play a real function, show some even remote, subtle or ironic allusions to the associated museum or to its specific artworks, plan energy saving in the prospect of a possible mass production, occupy a limited space in order to be easily carried by the museum's visitors. Among the selected museums there is Superstudio's Temporary Museum for New Design, for which the designer Laura Affinito has created a practical business-card holder. COUNT-DOWN: -11 DAYS TO SUPERSTUDIO DESIGN WEEK/ART ALTERNATIVES

The 40 exhibitors, the Temporary Museum for New Design's project extended to Superstudio 13, the 100 young talents to be discovered in the Discovering section and in other halls, the great architects in attendance, the Temporary Superstudioshop with the Superstudio Collection's t-shirts, the emotional installations, the museum-like format and all the rich schedule of Superstudio Design Week were not enough.
